Mission-Critical Experience
For more than two decades, Lee Technologies has played a key role in providing high-availability infrastructure solutions for some of the world's most mission-critical facilities. In fact, Lee Technologies has commissioned critical power equipment for over 1 million square feet of raised floor space throughout the U.S. Below are just a few examples of Lee Technologies' government projects.
Department of Justice (DOJ)
Lee Technologies upgraded the backup power and power distribution system at a major DOJ site. The upgrade included a Needs Assessment, a 100kva Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), service bypass, and batteries, as well as installation and integration services including all conduit, disconnect, transformers, new main breaker panel, and cable routing. The scope of work also included demolition and disposal of the existing UPS and battery systems.
Upgrading the UPS and Power Distribution System required the shutdown of the computer room, switching all equipment over to the new power backup system within a limited client-designated window of time. This also included functional testing of the integrated power distribution system and generator.
Despite the need to keep the critical application's downtime to the absolute minimum, the switch-over was accomplished on schedule. Pre-planning, including methods of procedure, contingency plans, and supervision by an experienced electrical project manager, were the keys to success.
Major Navy Program
Serving as subcontractor to a major prime on this U.S. Navy program, Lee Technologies provided Site Assessments, Equipment Integration, Site Commissioning and Construction Management services for multiple Server Farms and POP Sites nationwide.
Lee Technologies' experts in Engineering Review, Project Management, Facility Resource Technicians (FRTs) and Commissioning Specialists were essential to the successful completion of this project. In addition, the roll-out required a high-degree of coordination with all sub-contractors and military personnel.
U.S. Navy
Lee Technologies designed, built and installed power quality systems to support a critical Navy computer center which tracks USN reserve personnel throughout the world. The project entailed a 500kva uninterruptible power supply, precision air conditioning system, 10 power distribution units, an alarm and monitoring system, and structural steel for the roof and floor of the main computer operations area. In addition, a 1250 KW generator was securely positioned on the roof, due to the risk of tidal waves at the installation site.
During the project, Lee Technologies handled multi-jurisdictional challenges and was credited for keen customer awareness and delivery of quality systems and service. The experience level of Lee Technologies' project managers was key to them anticipating and preparing for challenging circumstances, which resulted in the smooth implementation and timely project completion.
Department of Education (DOEd)
Lee Technologies provided overall project management responsibilities for the DOEd's power quality programs, including site assessments, project budgeting, and design review for several major renovations. One site which was designed to Tier III reliability standards included 1600 amp electrical service, a 1250 kw generator, a 5000 gallon underground fuel tank, 250 kw of uninterruptible power, static switch power distribution units, remote power distribution units, computer grade air conditioning systems, a water detection system, and a site monitoring system.
While coordinating work with numerous contractors and subcontractors, Lee Tech tested and delivered this critical facility in record time (under 40 days). Lee Technologies' early design involvement and overall project management is credited with the timely completion of this project.
