Lee Technologies' New Containerized Solution Helps Government, Private Sector Save Up to 30 Percent on Data Center Operations Through Flexible Designs Leader in complete data center solutions unveils second new IT module that makes customized solutions, capital savings and energy efficiency a reality for more data-reliant organizations
Fairfax, Va., March 22, 2011 - Lee Technologies, the leading provider of complete data center solutions and resources to some of the most information-reliant corporations and government organizations in the world, today unveiled a second IT module in its line of modular data center designs. These solutions are aimed at addressing the overwhelming demand for data center solutions that are scalable, customizable, energy-efficient and able to be rapidly deployed.
"When we introduced the first Lee Technologies containerized IT module last year, we targeted the 10-14kW per-rack market that other container builders were missing," said Mike Hagan, Lee Technologies' executive vice president of sales and marketing. "Based on client feedback, it was clear that even these capacities exceeded many users' needs. We have now designed a second IT module featuring 12 racks rated for 5-7kW to bring modular data centers to an even broader range of government and commercial customers."
Both modules offer a PUE average of 1.1, allowing customers to save up to 30 percent in energy and operating costs. Both of the data center IT modules also deliver:
- Free cooling benefits with use of outside air.
- Rapid deployment in 10 weeks or less.
- Variable densities (5-14kW per rack).
- Six or 12 standard 42U[CD1] racks.
- Simple customization or modification.
- Indoor or outdoor installation option.
"Our new IT module offering, combined with our containerized UPS support modules, provides great options to help meet the challenges organizations typically face when building highly efficient and flexible data centers within a capital-restricted environment," said George C. Newstrom, Lee Technologies' president and chief operating officer. "We've seen other suppliers construct offerings that accommodate only about 10 percent of the market. The better modular solution is less dense, more granular and vendor-neutral, and looks at the bigger picture of total cost of ownership."
