New White Paper by Lee Technologies Identifies Top 10 Mistakes in Data Center Operations
FAIRFAX, Va., July 1, 2010 - Lee Technologies, the leading provider of complete data center solutions and resources to some of the most data-reliant corporations and government organizations in the world, today released "Top 10 Mistakes in Data Center Operations." This white paper is available at no cost and is downloadable at http://tinyurl.com/LeePapers.
"With this white paper, we hope to educate the industry on ways to avoid making major mistakes when operating and maintaining a data center," said the paper's author, Lee Kirby, Lee Technologies' vice president of Business Development and Strategic Accounts. "All too often, companies apply the bulk of their financial resources and expertise to the building and design of a facility, with little thought given to a structured operations plan. However, operations should be elevated to a primary focus, as regulators, insurers and end users are all going to be increasing their scrutiny of data center operations."
The release of the white paper coincides with the July 1 launch of the Uptime Institute's new tier standards that define and classify the operational elements that impact data center uptime. The new standard, "Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability," will work in tandem with Uptime's already-established Tier Classification System and address the rigorous operations required to maintain data center availability over the long term.
"Lee Technologies applauds the new Operational Sustainability Standard and congratulates the Uptime Institute for recognizing the critical role of operations in maintaining and improving upon the industry's overall uptime rate," said John C. Lee, chairman and CEO of Lee Technologies.
"Top 10 Mistakes in Data Center Operations" provides insight into the common pitfalls made during the development of structured operations programs and outlines the essentials of a best-in-breed operations program.
Other white papers previously released by Lee Technologies include "The Top Nine Mistakes in Data Center Planning," "Tiered Infrastructure Maintenance Standards (TIMS)" and "The Seven Steps to Extremely Reliable Infrastructure" and are available at http://tinyurl.com/LeePapers.
