Digital Realty Trust Selects Lee Technologies To Provide Mission-Critical Facility Operations at 10 U.S. Multi-Tenant Data Centers
FAIRFAX, VA; April 27, 2009 – Lee Technologies, a leading provider of mission-critical infrastructure solutions that enable commercial enterprises and government agencies to avoid disaster and mitigate risk to their technology facilities, today announced it has been selected by Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:DLR) to operate 10 mission-critical data center facilities throughout the United States.
Lee Technologies was tasked to transition a team of 35 seasoned facility technicians in 30 days to support the near and long-term, mission-critical needs at 10 Digital Realty Trust data centers in Phoenix, Chicago, St. Louis, Dallas and Houston. Due to Lee Technologies’ global resources and experience in operating, maintaining and training for mission-critical environments for the world’s most demanding organizations, the firm was able to meet the staffing requirements and effective start date of April 1, 2009.
“Lee Technologies quickly demonstrated its mission-critical expertise after successfully providing facility operations at our Paris and Dublin data centers, and we have full confidence they will deliver the same level of performance across these U.S. multi-customer facilities,” said Chris Crosby, Senior Vice President, Digital Realty Trust. “With Lee Technologies’ facility technicians at 10 of our primary mission-critical, multi-customer facilities will enable us to continue to deliver a five 9’s level of reliability in our Turn-Key Datacentersm facilities as we have for the past four years.”
After predicting three years ago that the talent pool of "qualified senior level technical and management data center professionals" would contract 45% by 2015, AFCOM Data Center Institute (DCI) recently updated its report by indicating that “due to the recession, the shrinking of the talent pool ... has actually sped up.” As a result, organizations are increasingly turning to Lee Technologies for its ability to operate complex data center environments.
“Lee Technologies brings to bear unmatched facility operations expertise and the global resources necessary to meet a broad range of mission-critical requirements,” said Mike Hagan, Senior Vice President of National Sales, Lee Technologies. “Digital Realty Trust has earned an unmatched reputation among its corporate customers for reliability and efficiency across its global properties, and we are honored to have been selected for this project.”
