James R. O'Neill (formerly) Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co. KG
Mr. James O’Neill is a 30-year technology industry veteran. He has extensive senior management experience with emphasis on networks and electronics as well as large system integration, communications and computer technology. Mr. O’Neill joins Siemens Enterprise Communications from CompuDyne Corporation, where he served as chairman and chief executive officer. CompuDyne is a leading provider of products and services to the public security market. The company’s customers include several divisions federal, state and local governmental agencies and corporate clientele. CompuDyne is owned by The Gores Group, a private equity firm. From 2004 until 2008, Mr. O’Neill served as corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Information Technology sector, one of the world’s premier providers of advanced information technology (IT) engineering and business solutions for government and commercial clients with 2007 revenue more than $4.5 billion and more than 100 offices world wide. In addition, Mr. O’Neill was responsible for the company’s entire IT shared service organization, which managed and implemented enterprise solutions in partnership with the company’s corporate office. In this capacity, the company’s CIO, who reported to Mr. O’Neill, assured that Northrop Grumman’s 130,000 employees had worldwide network connectivity, including all computing, software and telephony. Mr. O’Neill maintained senior executive relationships with companies such as Cisco, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Oracle, Avaya and others. Mr. O’Neill joined Northrop Grumman in 2002 and held several executive leadership positions, including service as president of Northrop Grumman’s IT Computing Systems, a value-added reseller of networking, enterprise computing, security and storage solutions and services. Before joining Northrop Grumman, Mr. O’Neill served as senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Services Industries, where he led the company’s sales and consulting groups in the worldwide communications and utilities sectors. Revenues exceeded $1 billion. Previously, Mr. O’Neill was an officer of Lucent Technologies and was president of its Government Solutions business unit with revenues of more than $1 billion and management of several hundred Bell Lab engineers. Mr. O’Neill was also vice president and general manager of Digital Equipment Corporation's Federal Government Region. In that role, he was responsible for the management and growth of Digital’s government business worldwide. Early in his career, Mr. O’Neill held positions within the federal divisions of Sanders Associates. Mr. O’Neill serves as the 2008 chairman of the Professional Services Council and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Northern Virginia Technology Council. He sits on the board of the Technology Council of Maryland and the American Heart Association. He was named 2006 Government Contractor Executive of the Year by the Northern Virginia GovCon Council, Professional Services Council and Washington Technology. Mr. O’Neill was born in Arklow, County Wicklow Ireland and became an American citizen in 1976. He has a bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College, N.H., and has attended executive management programs worldwide.
